Thanks to Alex, the "After All" crew and Nancy for doing RC last night. Alex, the boat is awesome as an RC platform. It proved to be a beautiful night for sailing. Thanks to Gary Umberger for cooking at the club on short notice.

Due to floor resurfacing at the LLSC clubhouse, there will be no dinner tomorrow. Expect to see people gathering outside the clubhouse to discuss how hungry they are. Sorry for the short notice but I just learned of this issue today.

There has been a minor change to the SI's regarding the fleet 4/5 split point. We have changed the max number for fleet 4 to 175 and the lowest number for fleet 5 to 176.

Thanks to the wind and RC for a great evening last night. Special thanks to Nancy Martin and Tammy Duran for doing most of the work on food since my fleet was on the course too long to get it started on time.

If the wind will cooperate like that all rear we'll be in great shape.

Hello sailors,

We are almost ready for the start of the 2012 Gill Wednesday Night Series.

Thanks go out to Gill for returning as out title sponsor for the 2012 Gill Wednesday Night Series. Gill's sponsorship helps AISC afford the great parties and awards we are able to provide.

Due to the changing dynamic of out fleet population, we have juggled the fleet splits for 2012. The SI's spell it all out. If you haven't paid yet, please bring you app and payment to the first race and Jim Kingery on 'Sotally Tober' or myself on 'Shaka' can take if for you. Please try to do it off the water since keeping such documents on the boat isn't wise.

Please sign up for RC and Food on the site. I'm cooking this Wednesday (with Tammy Duran's help) so come by and grab some food after the race.

Thanks to West Marine and all of our great sponsors for a terrific Dogwood Regatta.

Susan Reddaway and her team ran four excellent races in what was more like May or June conditions and the courses were extremely fair and challenging. We tried a new concept for the Cruiser fleet and everyone seemed pleased.

Jim Kingery ran the festivities beautifully and I wish I didn't have to miss the party due to a family illness.

We are closing in on a new season of AISC racing. Please be sure to fill out your Membership app and Dogwood Registration and have it postmarked by March 23 to avoid a late fee.

I received an email from an experienced sailor who would be new to the lake who is looking for crewing opportunities. It goes as follows:

I am considering getting back into sailing. I recently retired and have been looking for some active fun. I am an experienced sailor. I owned and raced J-24s on Wilson Lake in Florence, Alabama for 15 years. I also crewed on a North American 40 on Lake Michigan out of Chicago for 5 years and even sailed the Mack once. I have also chartered in the Virgins and out of Mt. Martin. All that was 20 years ago. I was wondering if your club had any type of mentor program for "old sailors" to help us get back into it. I don't want to get into "wet boat" racing but I do enjoy racing and cruising. Any suggestions? Chris

Wow, what a season.

Great party thanks to the work of Commodore Jim Kingery and his lovely wife Manning. Dale at Fish Tales put a terrific venue together with great food. Every award was collected but one and I'll deliver it to the deserving party ASAP.

We weren't smart enough to find new officers so Jim, Dan and I will be back again next year. John McCarthy has agreed to take on the food signup role so I will better concentrate on RC and other fleet duties.

I have promised Dan I would write some scoring app to make the scoring faster and more efficient.

I forgot to mention at the party but the Gill Sale is on November 12.

The LLSC post series start on 9/21 so come out and continue to enjoy daylight savings time.

Thanks to Robin Terrell and crew for a tremendous job of geting a race off when all seemed lost. Thanks also for Robin getting the score sheets in in record time to Dan and myself. I'll have the finish sheets posted where the race results ultimately will end up.

Thanks also to Ed, Liz, Matt and Bethanie from 'Sweet as Bro' for the dinner at LLSC. I gave Ed very little lead time but they came thru.

Results of Race 17 are posted. Several Sailors have noted that the scores are not calculating correctly regarding RC. The RC score should be the average of the races (less throw outs). The scorer knows this but it takes extra time to manually work that in with he current scoring program. I am working on an automated scoring app for next season that will make the scoring quicker and easier. Dan will have the scores posted with the proper RC values when the finals are calculated for the series.

Thanks to Jim and Manning Kingery for some great BBQ at the club Wednesday. The Commodore knows how to do it right.

Thanks to Gary Umberger, David Reddaway and Chris Hoffman for doing RC with me also. I hope everyone appreciated Gary's sound device.

I took some videos (sorry, wide angle action cam not the best for a start line). Also the boat was moving so the line is all over the place. I set the bar really low for someone to do a better video soon.
